Job description

Some of your duties will include:

• Monitoring the machines of all areas (Preparation, Analytical and fire assay, and instruments)
• Involvement in the ISO/IEC 17025:17
• Comply with the methods, procedures, and instructions established
• Perform the first equipment maintenance
• Monitoring the equipment daily checklist.
• Assist to the 3rd maintenance (vendor technician)
• Assist to the new equipment commissioning
• Follow training procedures in line with PTAMNT Succession Policy.
• Direct the activities of analytical Chemist; review activities and determine their needs
• Respond to instructions or enquiries promptly and in accordance with organizational requirements.
• Communicate progress of task to supervisor or colleagues as required.
• Maintain a good working relationship in the area

Special requirements

What skills and experience do you need?

• Associate’s Degree (D3) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment in the mineral, mining, or metallurgical industries
• Experience handling analytical equipment such as XRF, AAS, ICP-OES, and Leco is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Laboratory equipment technology.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, pneumatics, and mechanical laboratory equipment is an advantage
• English mastery both in spoken and written is a must
• Understands safety procedures (K3) within the laboratory environment
• Competent in maintenance and repair of mining/mineral laboratory equipment such as Jaw Crusher, Roll Crusher, Pulverizer, etc.
• Able to operate laboratory instruments such as XRF, AAS, ICP, Leco, and spectrophotometers.
• Possess strong liaison skills
• Demonstrate strong conceptual skills, and capable of developing lateral and practical solutions
• Manage multiple tasks at the same time
• High level of integrity and commitment
