From 2018, we have started implementing an expanded basic education program called PINTAR Program, to improve access to qualified primary and junior secondary school educations in 14 districts and 10 teacher training institutes in five provinces (North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, East or Central Java, and East Kalimantan).

District Coordinator (Central Java (1) & Jambi (1))

The District Coordinator will be located in the District Education Office (Dinas Pendidikan) and will work in partnership with local government and with the support of provincial and Jakarta staff to implement the program in their district including:
  • Organizing training and other activities in line with the agreed program
  • Making regular visits to partner schools to monitor progress and identify issues that need to be addressed
  • Collecting data on program activities and impact as needed
  • Supporting regular monitoring and evaluation of the program
  • Giving relevant feedback and advice to provincial and Jakarta staff to improve the implementation and impact of the program
    Qualifications and skills required:
  • Bachelors Degree or similar qualification
  • At least 3-5 years experience of working with districts government institutions and/or schools
  • Proven ability to manage a program of activities at district level
  • Ability to work reliably and independently without supervision
  • Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
  • Good computer literacy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Office Manager (East Kalimantan (1))

The Office Manager will be located in the Tanoto Foundation’s Provincial office and will maintain the office operation including:
  • Work with Regional Coordinator to develop a plan and budget for the overall program
  • Supervise Admin Officer and Finance Officer to ensure quality of administration and financial support to program implementation
  • Coordinate with Finance Manager to monitor and ensure compliance of financial transaction and documentation and reporting against Standard Operating Procedure
  • Support the execution of internal and external audit, including Conduct inspections to project sites to verify compliance
  • Provide inputs to Regional Coordinator and Operation Manager to improve program implementation
    Qualifications and skills required:
  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree from Finance or Accounting or Administration or other related fields
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in project management, experience in large scale program (both coverage and budget management), INGO/NGO would be advantageous
  • Good skills in administration, finance and accounting
  • Proficient in MS-Office especially MS-Excel and MS Word, MS-Outlook applications
  • Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Communications Specialist (East Kalimantan (1))

The Communications Specialist will be located in the Tanoto Foundation’s Provincial office and will initiate and maintain all communication channels.

    The task will include:
  • Under technical direction of the Communication Manager:
  • Ensure that all project communications materials (videos, modules, presentation, etc.) are available for provincial staff
  • Train provincial staff in to use the communication materials to optimize their works
  • Support the development of communication materials for national and provincial needs, including video of best practices, provincial fact sheets and newsletter production
  • Support and encourage staff and project beneficiaries to write stories documenting good practices for publication at website, newsletter and others
  • Support the presence of proper visibility of Tanoto Foundation at provincial’s event through development of communication outreach such as backdrop, banner, merchandise as per company policy
  • Work to ensure regular media coverage of the project and its impact within the province and partner districts to strengthen Tanoto Foundation branding as thought leadership in education. It includes, among others:
  • writing up of event on Tanoto Foundation’s own website and social media platform
  • preparing press conference and handout
  • briefing media on project activities
  • Monitor and report on outputs and outcomes of program amplification at provincial level and national level
  • Maintain relationship with journalists from local media and national media, when relevant
    Qualifications and skills required:
  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree from Communications or other related fields
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in communications, experience in large scale program (both coverage and budget management), INGO/NGO would be advantageous
  • Good skills in writing, both in Bahasa Indonesia and in English
  • Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Strategic Documentation and Advocacy Support (Jakarta (1))

Under the direction of the Head of ECED (Early Childhood Education and Development ) and coordination with the Senior ECED Technical and Liaison Advisor, the position is responsible to craft and convert technical knowledge including social behavior change communication efforts from the division’s portfolio into respective documentations and advocacy materials that are friendly and tailored for key stakeholders (internal and external) to aid promotion and support advocacy of informed-actions to advance nurturing care for early childhood development in Indonesia and globally.

    Responsibilities:
  • In alignment with TF Early Childhood Education and Development strategy and portfolio, support the identification and propose documentations that would support delivery of division’s objectives.
  • Support the organization on harvesting behaviour change communications from grantees/ grant implementers.
  • Participate in ECED and/or TF networking and stakeholder liaison activities to build comprehension of documentation needs. Initially shadowing representation activities by senior ECED/ TF team members.
  • As approved by supervisor and/or CEO, develop, organize, and/or coordinate the generation of printed or electronic documentations such as presentation materials, thematic briefs, fact sheets, infographics, job-aid, human interest stories, articles, etc. based on grants deliverables and published sector knowledge.
  • Support and/or Coordinate thought leadership activities, including community of practice on SBCC/ BCC for capacity building of Tanoto Foundation team and partners.
  • Monitor and keep track of published subnational and national agenda, trends and conversation on respective domains on early childhood development (Good Health; Adequate Nutrition; Responsive Caregiving; Opportunities for Early Learning; and Child Security and Safety).
  • Provide timely review and list feedback upon grants project documentation, job-aids, other IEC materials to be communicated by ECED Grants Learning personnel, as deemed necessary.
  • Update, and support the in-house or outsourced production and, as needed, the creation of all print and digital documentation for ECED which may include but not limited to brochures, flyers, thematic stock photos, fact sheets, position papers/ editorials, annual reports, and documentation materials.
  • Help ensure all ECED strategic documentation are consistent with ECED and/or TF key messaging.
  • Participate in TF projects/ initiatives as assigned by supervisor or higher TF leadership.
  • Perform general administrative duties or other duties assignment by Direct Supervisor/Management
    Qualifications and skills required:
  • Bachelor Degree from reputable university, preferably majoring in communications, international relations, or management.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in multinational organizations, programs, or companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as support team, and solution-oriented team member.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Tanoto Foundation vision, mission, and values.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work autonomously under pressure of deadlines.
  • Advanced writing skills and/or facilitation of story development with the ability to translate complex issues into a level appropriate for the general population and decision makers.
  • Knowledge of design/layout will be appreciated.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of audiences, including community
  • advocates, service providers, members of the public and local champions.
  • Bilingual/ bi-literate in English is highly desired, but not a prerequisite.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in relevant Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and some basic design software knowledge.
  • Ability to work with diverse people, communities, and cultures, with an understanding of cultural awareness practices.
  • Some knowledge of the early childhood development field is desired but not a prerequisite.
